Theoretical Physics, Quantifiable Consciousness & Glimpse of God/The Grand Design

Do you know what String Field Theory implies in Theoretical Physics? Can you interpret what insights we get from this? Can we quantify everything, even our levels of consciousness? Let’s dive deeper, take a journey and explore how things got really complex from a simple distributed sensory system to the predictive analysis ability of the human.

The grand design of this colossal multiverse of universes is undeniably prodigious. The String Field Theory (SFT) helps us to go beyond the Big Bang Theory & the limitations of Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, which falls apart into and after the traversal between a black hole.  The very concept of the multiverse is introduced in the String Field Theory (SFT), which also suggests the possibility of all the elementary particles & all interactions among them can be explained in terms of really diminutive minuscule tiny vibrating “strings” of energy.

So how do we define the strings here? Well, to put it in simpler words, a string is just a unit mathematical object containing only one dimension. “Each string has a length of 10^(-35)  meters, many times smaller than the diameter of the nucleus of an atom. Any given subatomic particle is made of a string that vibrates and rotates at the speed of light. A particular hadron gets its unique identity from the manner in which the string rotates and vibrates according to the dynamics of Einstein’s theory of general relativity”.

Now imagine the multiverse as a small cup of soap water. You can see a thousand (or, even more) bubbles in it. Say there are billions of bubbles and if this cup is the hyperspace of the multiverse then each of these bubbles is a different universe. We live on the skin of these bubbles, which are obviously expanding, detected & proved by observing the red-shifting of cosmic rays.

Now not all the bubbles are of the same size & orientation right? Similar to this, the universes can have different dimensions up to 11. Yes, the multiverse can have a maximum of 11 dimensions*. We can only observe 3 spatial dimensions and of course, 1 other dimension related to time. The other dimensions, however, are explained via “Compact Dimension” model, which basically states that the dimension which compactified is so small that it can’t be observed by any conventional means! The length is, however, stated to be of Planck length [ 1.616229(38)×10−35 meters, to be exact ].

Now that we’ve somewhat figured out about the origin of the universe, let’s take a look on how we can explain the origin & evolution of intelligence. If we try to define a model of consciousness, it’ll probably be a number of feedback loops & the data it harnesses from its interaction with its surroundings. The consciousness deals with what we can sense & how we can decide our actions based on that. A simple sensor system, having a low consciousness, takes account of some values (ie temperature, humidity etc) and calls an action. A plant with a higher level consciousness takes account of more input data. Human is believed to have a level 3 of consciousness:

Level 1: prey, hunt, survive.

Level 2: social integration, community behavior, emotion, social heirarchy.

Level 3: Ability to plan for future, run a predictive simulation in an unknown situation.

So, as we can see, consciousness is nothing but a mathematical pattern where only the structure/pattern of information processing matters.

Now after all these discussions, let me illustrate a small glimpse of the grand design of the Omnipotent or God. Do you know that these vibrations that I talked about, from each string, are believed to be generating music notes of their own? As Michio Kaku states, now we’ve reached to a candidate for the “Mind of God” that Einstein wrote about for the last 30 years of his life & that is the cosmic music resonating throughout the 11-dimensional hyperspace.

“However, if we discover a complete theory, it should in time be understandable by everyone, not just by a few scientists. Then we shall all, philosophers, scientists and just ordinary people, be able to take part in the discussion of the question of why it is that we and the universe exist. If we find the answer to that, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason — for then we should know the mind of God.”

Sub-atomic Particles to Blackholes – The Beauty of Quantum Physics

To begin with, let’s overview the core concept of dimensions. To address this concept formally, dimensions are independent descriptors of position. In spatial coordinate systems, if we alter a value in one dimension (say, along x-axis) doesn’t imply any amount of change in other dimensions (in this case, along y & z-axis).

In quantum physics, we assume that the whole space is quantized. Each quanta participates in forming or constructing the fabric of the coordinate systems. We can actually define time with the help of these quanta. The number of resonations which can be experienced at each quanta can be defined as time. Motion, distortion or ripples through space – all can be explained by using the concept of quantum theory.

Now from the definition of time, let’s define the black hole and gravity in a simple way. Imagine a number of ping-pong balls all clustered or glued together. Can any of these light plastic balls resonate in that cluster? The stronger they’re glued together, the harder for these balls to resonate. Similar to this, the denser the quantas get, the less they can freely resonate. Prior to this, we’ve defined time by the number of resonations, right? So this dense cluster must experience less time. Hence, the area or region where we can get the maximum density is referred as black holes. For this very reason, we generally assume that we don’t experience time while being or traveling through black holes (Remember the movie Interstellar?)

There are so many similar concepts in Quantum Physics that can be explored, like Einstein’s space-time curvature & what that implies, how gravity can easily be explained from the object traveling through the curved space. But I’ll not illustrate all the theories. I’ll just rant a few points that sub-atomic particles like neutrons, electrons etc keep doing on a continuous basis –

Stuffs that sub-atomic particles do:

  1. Particle-Wave Duality:

    Imagine pouring some drops of water on a pond. The moment the drops (particles) touch the surface of the fresh pond water, it vanishes and creates ripples (waves)! Now imagine a paddle boat moving through the pond. Let these ripples reach the boat and the moment when the paddle strikes the ripples, the ripples vanish and we find some drops of water (particles) again springing out!

  2. Superposition:

    Stressed out already? Imagine playing with a fidget spinner or a spinning top toy. Can you spin the spinner right and left simultaneously? If you could then what would you see? If a particle spins both ways at the same time, we’ll probably see it in a stable state as before, canceling out the both motion, innit bruv?

  3. Quantum Tunneling:

    Imagine throwing a ball against a solid but transparent wall (for example, made of glass). After it hits the wall, the ball bounces back but you can also clearly see some part of the ball bouncing on the other side of the glass! That’s more like transportation and yes, spooky! But this is exactly what electrons can do. Radioactive decay or the behavior of semiconductors – Quantum Tunneling is everywhere! Thanks to the nontrivial solution to the Schrödinger equation for existing!

Tedious Teeter Talks – 3 (Grief & Demons)

A state of desolation often leads to despair. Despair breeds torment.

Now, grief of human has stages, different stages. We’re all at some level of depression and that can be determined by these phases of griefs. They iterate one after another.

The first initial stage involves denial. As the “ostrich algorithm” in Computer Science, to be exact in Operating Systems, states a strategy of ignoring potential problems assuming that the occurring of those problems will be exceedingly rare, we as a human also try to stick our head in the sand and pretend that nothing happened for us to get depressed about. Some people even start complaining to and cursing their fate or faith.

Then comes the anger. The unavailing anger brings them nothing but still, anger is widely used to cover up one’s depression.

Then a category of people starts the bargaining session. This session is conducted by the one who’s depressed for some reason & conducted between this person & the Omnipotent. They pray to the Almighty for the betterment in exchange for leaving a bad habit or other pointless offers. If the person’s an atheist, s/he continues to apply his/her critical reasoning to explain the whole depression thing that’s going on.

The fourth stage of grief is the depression, which can make a person involve in terrifying suicidal attempts or activities. Depression is a characteristic of an injured soul, induced by the failed attempts in each of the aforementioned stages. Hope is a rare thing to find for a person who’s going through this phase.

Finally, we reach the acceptance stage, where you learn to accept the harsh crude reality and own the sorrow. Some can either stick to having hope & faith that someday everything’s going to be just fine, while the others usually accept the undeniable fact that nothing’s going to be the same again.

Think and figure out the stage of grief you’re into now and act accordingly to start living your life again. Too much grief poured upon some way too much grief actually kind of heals u, or to be exact, gives u a weird abstraction as if it’s healing u.

Tedious Teeter Talks – 2 (Acceptance)

1. It’s really important for you to know & be aware of the do’s and the don’ts, especially when you intend to keep running down the alleys of life with the ones who are more matured & mentally stable than you are. It’s because if you don’t, you’re going to get into some serious misunderstanding, miscommunication and further consequences. One will follow the other.
2. If you don’t have the guts to rise up, compete, fight & win something/someone over in life ( and completely ignore others who want that thing/that person just as desperately as you do), you no longer possess the right to crave for that thing/person. Creating an illusion by day-dreaming of that possession or existence is just another act of sheer immaturity.
3. When you lose a possesion of soemthing percious, let it be a thing or a special person, when you realize the fact that s/he is never going to be yours, own the pain. Learn to own it, because it’s a beautiful thing to own. The moment you reach the stage to endure the loss and accept the reality as it is, you start being the better version of yourself.

At some point, everything will come back to you, the memories that you carry, the pain that you own & all of these will make you a stronger person, an improved version of yourself as an individual.

Tedious Teeter Talks – 1 (Appreciation)

I see a bunch of people appreciating the life that’s been given to them, constantly. They’re grateful for they have. Instead of contemplating the things or the opportunities that they could have, they choose to carry or possess mental gratification for what they have.

On the other side of the page, there’s this other bunch of people who are not at all agog to develop a state of satisfaction. Depression has several stages, so does satisfaction. Putting up the smiling faces, fake friends, fake excitements, people leaving the scars on the skin as it crumbles down your soul gradually…. these are things that make someone depressed about his/her life.

But nevertheless, we can’t always hold onto the scraps of painful experiences, can we? We’ve all seen the bitter part, we’ve all had our tears streaming down as every effort led to countless failures.  Hence we can only keep the shredded memories and appreciate the better part, at least what’s left of it. As the story “Who packed your parachute” points out the fact that we often miss out conveying our gratitude to the ones who play the most significant role in our lives, it’s undeniably true that we lack the habit of appreciating others’ effort.

আঁধখাপচা – ২ (আলো, আকাশ আর শিউলি ফুল)

এরকম সারা রাত বৃষ্টি হওয়ার পর চারপাশের বৃষ্টিস্নাত রূপটা দেখতে ভালোই লাগে। সারা রাত জেগে ভোর সকালে বারান্দায় নিজের হাতে বানানো কফি নিয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা, হঠাৎ অনেক দূরের ছাঁদে উড়তে থাকা একটা লাল রঙের ওড়নার ছবি তোলা মুহূর্তটাকে আরো সুন্দর করে।

আরো ভালো লাগে যখন বাসার সবাই ঘুম আর আমি একা থাকি। যেমন এখন, ইচ্ছামতন গান গাচ্ছি আর কফি খাচ্ছি। এরকম সময়ে অনেক ক’টা কাল আগে উবে যাওয়া হারিয়ে যাওয়া একগাদা পসিটিভিটি এসে ভর করে জ্বরে পুড়তে থাকা ব্রেইনটায়। মাইগ্রেইন এর ভোঁতা ব্যথাকে তাচ্ছিল্য করে নিজের যুক্তিবাদী মাথার যুক্তির সাথে লড়তে থাকে নিজের আবেগী মন। আবেগ টুকুর জন্য এই হারিয়ে যাওয়ার অনুভূতির জায়গা করে দেওয়াটা সত্যি সুন্দর, অনেক সুন্দর!

অর্ণবদার গানের মতন হারিয়ে যাওয়াটা হঠাৎ করেই জরুরি হয়ে পড়ে,

“হারিয়ে গিয়েছি, এইতো জরুরি খবর,
অবাক দুই চোখে, ছায়া কাঁপে ভয় অভিমানে…
স্বপ্নে আমার শরীরে কেউ ছড়ায় না শিউলি ফুল

আঁধখাপচা – ১ (বৃষ্টিবিলাস)

বৃষ্টিটা সুন্দর ছিল, সব বারের মতই, অন্যরকম সুন্দর। দুটো বিকালের বৃষ্টির মধ্যে আমি কখনোই মিল খুঁজে পাই নাই, সবগুলোই সুন্দর, প্রত্যেকে নিজের মতন করে সুন্দর। আমরা যেমন প্রত্যেকটা মানুষই নিজের মতন করে সুন্দর।
বৃষ্টির সবচেয়ে সুন্দর ব্যাপারটা বোধ হয় চশমা ভিজিয়ে দেওয়া। দূরের কাছের প্রত্যেকটা মানুষের কাছে থেকে চোখ দুইটা আড়াল করে চুপচাপ এক-দেড় ঘন্টা বেমালুম বিশ্বের যে কোনো প্রান্তের রাস্তায় ঝুম বৃষ্টিতে হাঁটা মনে হয় পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে সুন্দর কাজগুলার মধ্যে একটা।
হেঁটে দেখো/দেখুন, একটু কেঁদে দেখো/দেখুন, ভালো না লাগলেও খুব একটা খারাপও লাগবে না বোধ করি। কানে কিছু সুর চললে আর সুরগুলো তোমার কথাগুলোই তোমার থেকে সুন্দর করে বললে দোষ কি বল তো? জীবন তো ১টাই নাকি?

ভালো থাকুক বৃষ্টি, ভালো থাকুক বৃষ্টিবিলাস, কাজলের নিচে, সযত্নে আড়াল করা চোখে, কখনোবা গাড়ির কাঁচে।।
